Seniors: It is time to apply!

Seniors, it is already mid-September. The time to apply is NOW.
Here are some helpful links to help you get started in the process.

  1. SC Can Go: Resources for students, parents, teachers and counselors
  2. Common Application: Allows you to apply to a multitude of colleges and universities that use a holistic approach to admissions.
  3. Universal College Application Site: Helping to give more students more access to college.
  4. Black College Common Application: Apply to up to 36 Historically Black Colleges and Universities for one price of $35. Saves money and time!

The Richland Northeast College and Career Center is on the move-literally. We will be moving to the newly renovated A building. In the meantime, if you need any assistance with the college or financial aid process, look for Mrs. Sanders in the Media Center.

Eligible for Test Fee Waiver?

Students who meet certain requirements may be eligible for a fee waiver to take the SAT Test.
-11th or 12th grade student
-Either a U.S. citizen or is testing in the U.S. or U.S. territories
-Meets one or more of the following requirements:
-Is enrolled in a free or reduced lunch program
-Is enrolled in a program for the economically disadvantaged (for example a TRIO program)
-Family's annual income falls within the levels listed by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) for free or reduced lunch prices
-Family receives public assistance
-Family lives in federally subsidized public housing
-Is a resident in a foster home

To see if you are eligible, check today with your guidance counselor. Remember that the SAT or ACT is accepted for most 4-year colleges or universities.
